WOMEN RISING: Expanding Visions/Diverse Perspectives

3rd Annual Fine Art Exhibition

WHAT: A fine art exhibition curated by CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival

WHEN: April 3 – April 25, 2026

WHERE: Dakota Arts, 1322 Cornwall Ave., Downtown Bellingham

TICKETS: No cost.

Three years ago CASCADIA expanded its programming to include women in the visual arts and is sponsoring another exhibition this year. We invite you to submit artworks addressing a broad range of themes, issues, and ideas. The exhibition, Women Rising: Expanding Visions/Diverse Perspectives will highlight the multiplicity of women’s voices, styles, and interpretive approaches by artists living in the Pacific Northwest.

Women Rising is organized in conjunction with CASCADIA International Women’s Film Festival. Celebrating its 10th anniversary next month, it continues to spotlight the creativity of female directors from over 50 countries.

The exhibit has steadily grown since launching in 2024. This year’s exhibition presents the diverse work of 60 artists from the Pacific Northwest. While highlighting each artist’s unique style, the exhibition also presents opportunities to study relationships between different approaches and media.

“As portals to beauty, the arts offer relief in an increasingly uncertain world. Artists affirm the best of our humanity and sometimes raise uncomfortable questions. Ultimately, freedom of expression underscores the vibrancy of art in Women Rising.”
