Script Studio Workshop
The 2026 Script Studio Workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 3, and will take place at the New Prospect Theatre (207 Prospect St., Bellingham). The event is part of a series of workshops during CASCADIA’s regularly scheduled festival. It will be open to the public free of charge.
CASCADIA’s Script Studio provides screenwriters with a chance to hear their scripts read aloud by actors, to discuss their work with a panel of film professionals, and to network with women directors and other film professionals.
Four short screenplays, written by women, have been selected by judges from the film world. The four selectees are required to attend the Script Studio, if possible in person, and if not, electronically.
Each script is projected on a large screen for the audience, while actors read the script. Then the panel of film professionals weighs in, discussing the script’s strengths and weaknesses, and making suggestions for improvement.
